‘to a child’

Written by:

to run from a bear,
not sure i agree,
for what’s more to fear,
the bear, or,
you and me?

bears see beauty,
so why not say hi,
bears can be seen,
looking into the sky

a wishful encounter,
they mean us no harm,
approach them with kindness,
let them feel warm.

entering their home,
we play for a bit,
but when they come to us,
we all throw a fit

when did the humans,
a creature like all,
turn their back on the others,
our greatest downfall.

give the bear love,
as they give their kind,
they know things beyond us,
let’s learn on their time

bears are a symbol,
of something that’s wild,
what’s wild is scary,
but not to a child.

Children see life,
in its simplest forms,
their innocence shines light
on adults and their horns
